
Greek Village Salad – Choriatiki
Greek Village Salad – Choriatiki – is a classic of Mediterranean cuisine: sun-ripened tomatoes, crisp cucumber, peppers, olives and feta, finished with extra virgin olive oil and aromatic herbs.
Simple, fresh and unmistakably Greek.
Ingredients – Serves Approx. 4

4–5 ripe tomatoes

1 cucumber
-
1 green pepper
-
1 red onion
-
approx. 150–200 g feta cheese

a handful of olives
-
4–5 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
-
1–2 tsp Greek Village Salad Seasoning
-
a little Fleur de Sel, to taste
Preparation

Prepare the vegetables: Wash the tomatoes, cucumber and pepper and cut them into chunky pieces. Slice the red onion into thin rings.

Assemble the salad: Place the vegetables and Kalamata olives in a bowl and gently toss together.

Season: Sprinkle with the Greek Village Salad Seasoning and a little Fleur de Sel, then drizzle generously with extra virgin olive oil.

Add the feta: Place the feta as a whole piece on top of the salad, sprinkle with a little more Greek Village Salad Seasoning and finish with another drizzle of olive oil.

Serve: Serve immediately – preferably with fresh bread, perfect for soaking up the delicious olive oil and tomato juices at the bottom of the bowl.
